Presidentes de Haití y Chile discuten sobre visas a migrantes
Piñera se reunió con presidente haitiano para explicar polémico decreto migratorio
El Presidente Sebastián Piñera aceptó reunirse con su homólogo haitiano Jovenel Moïse, en el marco de la reunión de presidentes, jefes de Gobierno y de Estados, que se desarrolló en Lima, Perú.
Dicho encuentro se dio a sólo horas de que entre en vigencia el decreto que impone visados a los ciudadanos de ese país centroamericano para entrar a Chile.
Al respecto, el presidente Piñera explicó que efectivamente ese punto estuvo presente en la reunión bilateral, explicándole al mandatario haitiano que la intención es regular la inmigración que está recibiendo Chile desde ese país.
Además, le explicó al presidente Moïse que la idea tras la decisión de la nueva política migratoria, está también radicada en terminar con supuestas bandas especializadas en trata de personas.
Según el gobernante chileno, su homólogo del país centroamericano habría entendido la decisión que tomó y que anunció el lunes pasado en la Moneda.
Recordemos que a partir de este lunes 16 de abril todos los haitianos que pretendan entrar a Chile, ya sea por los aeropuertos internacionales o pasos fronterizos terrestres, no lo podrán hacer sino tienen una de las dos visas: de turista o de reunificación familiar.
Moïse discusses Visas with the President of Chile
