A través de un comunicado del Departamento de Estado, Estados Unidos felicitó al pueblo de Venezuela por la instalación del nuevo Parlamento.

DECLARACIÓN DEL PORTAVOZ
Asientos de la Asamblea Nacional de Venezuela
Los Estados Unidos felicita al pueblo de Venezuela por la instalación de su nueva y democráticamente elegida Asamblea Nacional. Este es un paso importante y necesario para el cumplimiento de la voluntad de los votantes venezolanos como se refleja en las elecciones del mes pasado.
La Asamblea Nacional puede servir una función importante en la promoción y el fomento de un diálogo nacional centrado en abordar los desafíos sociales y económicos que enfrenta el pueblo venezolano. Hacemos un llamado a todas las partes a respetar la independencia, la autoridad y las prerrogativas constitucionales de la Asamblea Nacional. Seguimos preocupados por la controversia en torno a la capacidad de algunos representantes electos y esperamos una solución transparente y que refleja las preferencias de los electores venezolanos.
En reconocimiento de la instalación de la Asamblea Nacional, y para facilitar el diálogo, una vez más un llamamiento para la liberación de todas las personas encarceladas por sus creencias y actividades políticas.
STATEMENT BY THE SPOKESPERSON
Seating of the Venezuelan National Assembly
The United States congratulates the people of Venezuela on the installation of their new, democratically-elected National Assembly. This is an important and necessary step towards fulfilling the will of Venezuelan voters as reflected in last month’s elections.
The National Assembly can serve an important function in advancing and promoting a national dialogue focused on addressing the social and economic challenges facing the Venezuelan people. We call on all parties to respect the independence, authority, and constitutional prerogatives of the National Assembly. We remain concerned by the controversy surrounding the seating of some elected representatives and call for a resolution of this dispute in manner that is transparent and reflects the preferences of the Venezuelan voters.
In recognition of the installation of the National Assembly, and to facilitate dialogue, we again call for the release of all those imprisoned for their political beliefs and activities.
