St Kitts, IMF Hold Talks in Basseterre
St Kitts and Nevis Prime Minister Dr Timothy Harris met Tuesday with a delegation from the International Monetary Fund.
According to a government statement, the purpose of the meeting was to provide the new PM with “an overview of the ongoing preparations for the annual regional common policy discussions with Eastern Caribbean Currency Union (ECCU) member countries.”
The government said the focus of this year’s regional consultation would include “building a healthy financial system in the ECCU, policy options to boost growth and competitiveness, fiscal policies for growth and macroeconomic stability, as well as regional integration initiatives in these and other areas.”
The talks were hosted at Government Headquarters in downtown Basseterre.
Harris is also the country’s Minister of Finance.
